buyingTeam's Europe head office is based in Geneva in Switzerland, managed by our Managing Director Andrew Loken. Our head office is supported by regional heads Adolfo Gomez Sanchez in Madrid and Olivier Durand in Brussels who are covering the Iberian/Southern Europe and Benelux regions, respectively.
Our European team provides buyingTeam’s expert resources and best-practice procurement methodologies to support clients with a pan-European focus, as well as local clients in Europe.
Meeting international challenges
Since 2000, buyingTeam has been responding to increasing demand for pan-European sourcing projects. We have built up expertise in these international engagements, helping clients to develop multi-country purchasing opportunities.
Clients with sites or operations in several countries face substantial challenges in developing a coordinated buying strategy for the European market while also satisfying local stakeholders. As well as the complications of analysing varying methodologies, systems, cultures and business histories, European-wide purchasing reviews also bring with them a complex operational reality.
We have developed a successful approach that accommodates different cultures and the virtual team structure needed for international projects. As a result, we enjoy a strong track record in taking clients’ European procurement operations through successful programmes of improvement.
Our European team
Our international team includes procurement experts from a wide variety of industry and consultancy backgrounds. While we consolidate data into English during the analysis phase, we communicate with our clients in their preferred local language. Our European specialists speak fluent German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and English and have a sensitive understanding of different European business cultures. We also draw on the extensive resources and expertise of our central London office when needed.
How we work in Europe
buyingTeam’s international engagements vary from client to client. Typically, we will locate resources on site for one-off purchasing analysis or hands-on implementation. We also have consultants based permanently with European clients.
